ALBIREX NIIGATA LIFTS GREAT EASTERN COMMUNITY SHIELD 2016

SINGAPORE, 13 FEBRUARY 2016: Double Cup winners Albirex Niigata FC (S) began their season with a 3-2 victory over defending Great Eastern-Yeo’s S.League champion Brunei DPMM FC in front of 2,481 fans in this evening’s Great Eastern Community Shield match at Jalan Besar Stadium.

S.LEAGUE AND SMRT COMMERCIAL IN PARTNERSHIP TO PROMOTE AND SUPPORT SINGAPORE FOOTBALL

SINGAPORE, 12 FEBRUARY 2016: The S. League and SMRT Commercial today announced a landmark partnership to promote Singapore's only professional sports league.

This unique collaboration will bring Singapore football and clubs closer to over two million passengers across the SMRT transport network – in formats such as S. League concept trains, video contents showing goals and highlights on the screens, as well as localised club advertisements in strategic MRT stations.

MITRE UNVEILED AS NEW OFFICIAL S.LEAGUE MATCH BALL SPONSOR

SINGAPORE, 25 JANUARY 2016: The S.League is pleased to announce that Mitre, the world’s oldest manufacturer of footballs, will be the Official Football and Product Supplier to the S.League for the next five years.

As part of this deal, Mitre will also provide match balls for all Prime League, Singapore Cup, League Cup, COE League, National Football League and Island Wide League matches.

SINGAPORE, 29 DECEMBER 2015: The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) held its 33rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) earlier this evening at the Jalan Besar Stadium with its Council members and club representatives in attendance.

In his opening address, FAS President Zainudin Nordin gave a review of the 2010-2015 Strategic Plan, and also revealed some information about the next Strategic Plan to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2016.

SINGAPORE, 30 NOVEMBER 2015: The 2015 Great Eastern-Yeo's S.League came to an official conclusion this evening as the annual S.League Awards Night was held to recognise the achievements of clubs and individuals who excelled in the league’s 20th season. A total of 11 awards were presented at the Marina Bay Sands, including the Young Player of the Year to Brunei DPMM FC’s Azwan Ali, Coach of the Year to his coach Steve Kean, and Player of the Year to Fumiya Kogure of Albirex Niigata FC (S).

Pahang give LionsXII a guard of honour

SINGAPORE, 28 NOVEMBER 2015: The LionsXII concluded its season with a 2-0 win over defending champions Pahang in the second leg of the 2015 Malaysia Cup quarter-final, but lost 3-4 on aggregate.

Despite the LionsXII’s determination, it was never an easy task to overturn a three-goal deficit against Pahang, one of the top teams in Malaysia, which is seeking to clinch its third Malaysia Cup in a row after its triumphs in 2013 and 2014.

SINGAPORE, 25 NOVEMBER 2015: Following a series of discussions over the past one year – with the most recent meeting held in Kuala Lumpur earlier this month – the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) informed us earlier this evening that they would not renew the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which was signed in 2011.

SINGAPORE, 21 NOVEMBER 2015: The 20th season of the Great Eastern-Yeo’s S.League came to an exciting climax today as the title was once again – for the third time in four years – decided on the final day of the season. For only the second time in the league’s history, a foreign club was crowned league champions as Brunei DPMM FC made amends for last season’s heartbreak following an emphatic 4-0 victory over Balestier Khalsa FC in Bandar Seri Begawan.
