FAS names 23-man squad for International Friendly against Laos and AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against Syria

SINGAPORE, 27 September 2013: The Football Association of Singapore today announced that 23 players have been called up to the National Team for the international friendly match against Laos on Thursday, 10 October 2013 and the AFC Asian Cup Qualifier match against Syria on Tuesday, 15 October 2013.

Hong Kong, 10 September 2013: With the friendly match against hosts Hong Kong taking place later this evening, we hear from National Team head coach Bernd Stange and LionsXII defender Safuwan Baharudin on what are in store for the Lions.

Going into the next match from a 6-1 loss to China in Tianjin four days ago, Stange acknowledged the significance of the match ahead: “It is a very important game for us. We have to constantly improve ourselves.”
