Hong Kong, 10 September 2013: With the friendly match against hosts Hong Kong taking place later this evening, we hear from National Team head coach Bernd Stange and LionsXII defender Safuwan Baharudin on what are in store for the Lions.

Going into the next match from a 6-1 loss to China in Tianjin four days ago, Stange acknowledged the significance of the match ahead: “It is a very important game for us. We have to constantly improve ourselves.”

HONG KONG, 9 September 2013: Following the 6-1 defeat to China in a friendly match on Friday, 6 September 2013, National Team head coach Bernd Stange shares with us his thoughts on the game, and what lies ahead for our Lions.

 “I would like to congratulate China on their win,” Stange began. “We played a strong and technical team; there is a huge gap between the standard of Singapore and Chinese football, and this is reflected in the difference in the countries’ rankings.”

SINGAPORE, 14 August 2013: There was to be no perfect ending for new gaffer Bernd Stange’s first competitive match in charge as his Singapore side fell 2-0 to visitors Oman in the second group game of their AFC Asian Cup 2015 qualifiers.

Two goals conceded in the first half ultimately proved to be the downfall for the Lions in front of 5,849 fans.
