AFC U19 Championships 2012 - Singapore defeated by Indonesia in third match

In their third match of the AFC U19 Championships, the Singapore NFA U18 team lost to Indonesia 3-0. The match was held at the MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia on Tuesday, the 8th of November 2011.

The boys had previously drawn with Macau in their opening match of the campaign, and were handed out a painful lesson to the hands of China.

Indonesia went into the break leading by two goals, and added another before the end of the match, to make the final score 3-0.

Singapore NFA U18

Singapore U-18 went down 11-0 to China P.R U-19 team in their third AFC U19 Championship 2012 match. 

The Cubs also had Fariq Ghani sent off in the 45th minute which added on to their unfortunate outing aginst the Chinese.

Speaking more on the match, Coach Akbar said "The boys tried their best and gave it their all against a well-oiled Chinese team. But now we must prepare for the next match where we will face an Indonesian team that has spent almost four years training together in Uruguay." 

NFA U19 Cubs goes down to Asian power house, Australia

The Singapore NFA U18 boys lost to Asian powerhouse, Australia, by a solitary goal, in their second match of the AFC U-19 Championships 2012.

Head coach, Akbar Abdul Nawas was pleased with the team's performance despite the loss. He said, "The boys knew that they were facing a dautning task. I am disappointed with the result, but at the same time, the boys played well and I am satisfied with that."

Speaking of the solitary goal conceded to Australia, he continued, "We conceded a soft goal due to a lapse of concentration in the 50th minute."

Singapore U18

The Singapore NFA Under-18 team started off their AFC U19 Champoinship 2012 campaign with a goalless draw against Macau in a match that was played at the MBPJ Stadium on 31st October 2011. 

Heavy rain caused pitch conditions to be unfavourable for both teams as they tried hard to stick to their game plan and achieve maximum points for their country.

Singapore was unable to break down the Macau defence desipte having numerous chances at goal, with two clear goals denied by the post. 

The match then ended with the scoreboard reading Macau 0-0 Singapore U-18.

Singapore NFA U18 held to a 1-1 draw by Cambodia

Singapore NFA U18 – AFF U19 Championships (Myanmar)

Singapore NFA U18 played their third match in the AFF U19 Championships yesterday, the 15th of September, against Cambodia.  

They were held to a 1-1 draw with Cambodia. Cambodia took the lead in the 60th minute through Rous Samoeun and looked like grabbing all three points from the encounter, but Muhammad Nur Naiim Ishak struck in the 79th minute with the equalizer to give the Singapore NFA U18 the precious one point.

Singapore NFA U18 held to a 1-1 draw by Philippines

The Singapore NFA U18 was held to a 1-1 draw with the Phillippines on Friday, the 9th of September, in the AFF U19 Championships that are being held in Myanmar.

They conceded in the first half in the 34th minute but came back with an equalizer in the 84th minute through Shannon Stephen.

Week 3

The National Under-17s regained top spot of the COE U-18 League after a 4-0 thrashing of the young Seahorses from Paya Lebar Punggol.

SAFFC are second after a 3-2 win over Geylang United, but have two games in hand.

Week 4

The NFA U17s raced five points clear of the chasing pack just as their U15 counterparts have done in the FAS COE U-16 League.

The U17s trounced Paya Lebar 4-0 and then Tanjong Pagar 3-0 in the space of three days.

Week 5

Paya Lebar Punggol finally got their first point after six games with a goalless draw with Woodlands Wellington at the Hougang St 21 field.

As a result, the Young Seahorses swapped places with Tanjong Pagar United, who lost 0-1 to Geylang United in Turf City.

NFA U17s remain unbeaten

Week 6

The NFA U17s remain the only unbeaten side in the COE U-18 league after defeating SAFFC 2-1 at the Clementi Stadium. 

Before this week, SAFFC had yet to taste defeat with three wins and a draw. Balestier Khalsa, the other team which had not lost, were beaten 0-1 by Woodlands Wellington.
