EXPLAINER: AFC/FAS ‘B’ Diploma Coaching Course

About
The Asian Football Confederation/Football Association of Singapore (AFC/FAS) ‘B’ Diploma Coaching Course is a standalone course that equips participants with the knowledge and skills for coaching.

 

This course is targeted at coaches (18 years and above) who wish to pursue their coaching development and are committed to develop young players aged between 14 to 16 years.

 

Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants must have attained the FAS ‘C’ Certificate and at least two (2) consecutive years of coaching at the relevant level (minimum between 10 to 13 years old). Applicants are also required to show evidence of coaching experience by submitting records of 60 coaching hours in the form of log books (mandatory); testimonials and/or appointment contracts are optional.

 

Course Summary
This course consists of a total of 144 hours, which comprises theory, practical and assessment components, as follows:

 

Theory
Coaching Models – Game Form
Team Building
Match & Video Analysis
Energy Systems (Sports Science)
Regeneration & Recovery (Sports Science)
 

 

Practical
Attacking Play – Building Up, Retention & Penetration, Game Form (5v5) (8v8
Defending Play – In Middle Third, Defending Crosses, (1v1) (2v2)
Combination Play – Wall Pass, Takeovers & Overlaps
Goalkeeping – Warming Up, Shot Stopping & Dealing with Crosses
Football Fitness – Development of Strength & Endurance
 

 

Participants are required to bring their own writing materials when attending lessons as you may need it for individual/group discussions, presentations, writing reports, etc.
 

Certification
Upon completion of the course, participants who are graded with a “pass” will be issued with the AFC/FAS ‘B’ Diploma Coaching Certificate.
