Deputy Director, General Secretary’s Office

Job Summary

As the Deputy Director, General Secretary’s Office supporting the Deputy General Secretary, you will be involved in formulating policies and implementing the FAS’ strategic plans that guide Singapore’s football ecosystem. You will oversee a team with varied skills and backgrounds, where you are required to provide exceptional leadership capabilities to meet the organisation’s needs, vision and values.

Job Description

  • Manage and implement special projects.
  • Manage the development and implementation of the FAS Strategic Plan.
  • Manage and coordinate the development of stakeholders’ engagement strategies.
  • Oversee the FAS Executive Committee, Council and Congress meetings/proceedings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sports Management or other related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the project management and/or strategic planning field.
  • Experience within the football/sports industry is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and oral.
  • Advanced literacy in Microsoft Office applications.

Deputy Director/Director, Communications

Job Summary

Reporting to the General Secretary/Deputy General Secretary, the Deputy Director/Director, Communications will be responsible for building FAS’ image and communicating FAS’ value proposition to the public, fraternity and the media in Singapore and abroad.
 

Job Description

  • Develop public communications strategies and messages.
  • Implement a wide range of public relations and marketing communications programmes involving local and international media relations, brand and reputation management, events management, as well as print and electronic communications.
  • Set / provide overall direction including developing programmes for corporate communications, branding initiatives, internal communications and external media relations.
  • Develop, build and enhance positive corporate brand name and image.
  • Articulate the desired image and position of FAS and S.League, assure consistent communication of image and position to all stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Oversee media relations, crisis and reputation management, brand management and content management of websites and other online media.
  • Direct / Coordinate the presentation of all FAS and S.League print and electronic materials such as letterheads, use of logos, corporate brochures and materials etc.
  • Engage effectively staff and volunteers through communication programmes to help people transform information into knowledge, remove barriers and conflicts and support/understand the objectives and goals of FAS and S.League.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with over 10 years of relevant experience in areas such as journalism, public communications, media relations, publications, branding, events management and digital media.
  • Excellent writing skills and relationships with local and international media.
  • Strong ability to engage senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in conceptualising and implementing campaigns across communications platforms.
  • Proven leadership and project management abilities.

Senior Executive, Competitions

Job Summary

The Competitions Division plans, executes and manages all local football matches and tournaments sanctioned and organised by FAS, including but not limited to the S.League, Prime League, Singapore Cup, League Cup and National Football League. The Competitions Division is also responsible for the coordination and organisation of the various and relevant international club and national team competitions held in Singapore.

Reporting to the Director, Operations or assigned, the Senior Executive, Competitions is responsible for the daily administration of the various competitions and tournaments under the purview of the Division. The Senior Executive, Competitions is also required to assist in the planning and execution of football events and projects.

Job Description

  • Scheduling and drafting of Association’s domestic competition formats and league fixtures as directed.
  • Facilitate and manage player registration process.
  • Assist in planning, coordination and execution of all FAS and S.League tournaments, matches, events, exercises and projects.
  • Enforcement of competition rules, regulations and directives.
  • Correspondence with clubs on all competition matters.
  • Coordination of player fitness tests.
  • Coordinate scouting trials for foreign players.
  • Facilitate end-season ‘Retained and Released List’ exercise.
  • Conduct pre-season, in-season and post-season stadium inspections.
  • Facilitate MOM work pass application process for clubs.
  • Facilitate all requests for FAS sanctions for matches and tournaments.
  • Booking of training and match venues for clubs and relevant competitions and tournaments.
  • General department administration and clerical duties.
  • Perform other competitions-related ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly adaptable, organized and able to manage several assignments simultaneously.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications.  
  • Able to work independently and a good team player.
  • Experience in sports industry an advantage.
