SINGAPORE, 19 OCTOBER 2018 – The Singapore Under-19 Women’s National Team will be heading to Vietnam for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-19 Women’s Championship 2019 Qualifiers Round One.

Drawn into Group E for the first round of qualifiers, Singapore will face Jordan, Malaysia and Vietnam from 24 to 28 October 2018. Teams finishing top of their respective groups will progress to the second and final round of qualifiers, with the best two second-placed teams joining them.

Departing for Hanoi on 22 October, the team will be led by Head Coach Melisa Ye and Assistant Coach Chris Yip-Au – both of whom are former Women’s National Team players.

Coach Melisa Ye said: “The tournament will be my first official tournament leading the Under-19 Women’s National Team. We have been training as a team regularly to prepare for the competition and worked on some areas of improvement. I believe that the girls are ready to show what they practised during training and I have faith that they will put up a good fight.”
