Revamped Girls’ Centres to Be Officially Launched in March

SINGAPORE, 11 FEBRUARY 2019 – Previously known as the FIFA “Live Your Goals” Centres, the Centres at Queensway and Bowen Secondary Schools have been rebranded as the Football Association of Singapore Girls’ Centres.
Under former Women’s National Team player Melisa Ye (Queensway Centre) and Yeong Sheau Shyan (Bowen Centre), assistant coach of the Women’s National Team, the revamped centres will see an improved curriculum catered for girls aged 12 years and below to teach them the fundamentals of the sport and improve their coordination skills through fun games.
The centres were first launched in 2016 to create awareness and increase participation in football among girls and women. In addition, they also provide a platform for talented players to be spotted and nurtured for the age-group national teams.
Both centres will be officially launched on 9 and 10 March (Queensway and Bowen centres respectively) in conjunction with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Football Day. Girls interested to join the weekly sessions may sign up at here.
