Executive, Competitions

Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of the Competitions Department, the employee is responsible for the daily administration of the various competitions and tournaments under the purview of the Department. The Executive (Competitions) is also required to assist in the planning and execution of football events and projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform the role of Competition Manager for assigned portfolio.
  • Scheduling and drafting of Association’s domestic competition formats and league fixtures as directed.
  • Assist in planning, coordination and execution of all FAS and Singapore Premier League tournaments, matches, events, exercises and projects.
  • Handle all administrative and operational functions related to FIFA Connect, MyFAS and AFC Competition Management System and their related modules.
  • Correspondence with Clubs on all competition matters.
  • Perform duties of the Competitions Official at Singapore Premier League and international matches outside of official working hours on a regular basis.
  • Perform duties of the General Coordinator/Assistant General Coordinator during tournaments and matches as directed.
  • Maintain systematic records and statistics of relevant competitions and tournaments and database of players/officials.
  • Assist in conducting various meetings, briefings, presentations and workshops for clubs.
  • Conduct pre-season, in-season and post-season stadium inspections.
  • Perform duties as the Secretary to FAS Standing Committees or other Committees as assigned.
  • General department administration and clerical duties.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by Employee’s Reporting Officer, other Reporting Officer(s) (if any) and/or General Secretary.

Job Summary

Part of the FAS content team, the Producer, Content & Production is predominantly involved in the live production of the Singapore Premier League (SPL) matches, as well as produces content for various FAS and SPL platforms. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Produce pre-match, match, and post-match shows for matches for FAS
  • Oversee delivery of feeds to various platforms on matchdays
  • Handle production crew on matchdays
  • Deal with talent on matchdays
  • Produce content in lead up to matchdays
  • Produce short-form content surrounding SPL
  • Edit highlights
  • Film/edit social media content
  • Assist in rostering talent for matchday

Technical Producer, Content & Production

Job Summary

Part of the FAS content team, the Technical Producer, Content & Production is predominantly involved in the live production of the Singapore Premier League (SPL) matches, as well as produces content for various FAS and SPL platforms. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage, account and maintain broadcast facilities and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and attend to technical issues with regards to broadcast facilities and equipment
  • Oversee delivery of feeds to various platforms on matchdays

Executive/Senior Executive, Front Desk

Job Summary

Reporting to the Deputy Director, HC & IT, the Executive/Senior Executive, Front Desk will provide front office reception and administrative support to the Association. The Senior Executive, Front Desk will also be required to assist in operational support during match days, and other events days where required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests / visitors
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate staff and office

Executive/Senior Executive, Coach Education and Development

Job Summary

Reporting to the Head, Coach Education & Development (CED), the Executive, Coach Education and Development will work closely with Club Coaches and other key personnel. The staff will assist to provide administrative and operational support in the above key areas as part of football development initiatives and in line with the FAS National Football Development Plans and Philosophy. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets, inventories, documents, standard forms, procedures and other administrative support in the efficient management of activities, programmes, events and other initiatives in the key areas of Coach Education, Clubs and Schools.
  • Provide administrative, management and operational support to ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all related activities, processes and procedures in the key areas for compliance and transparency.
  • Assist in managing all communications, internal and external, with key personnel like internal departments, clubs, schools, coaches, teachers, suppliers, sponsors, stakeholders and partners.
  • Assist in disseminating of information to all parties and stakeholders on FAS organized activities and events (coaching courses, Continuing Coach Education (CCE) sessions, meetings, workshops, tournaments, matches, etc).
  • Assist in the procurement of equipments, apparels and other items to ensure the smooth delivery of FAS development and coach education programmes.
  • Manage the inventory in FAS and other related venues and storage areas.
  • Monitor attendance of personnel involved in the key operational areas.
  • Processing of allowances of our Coach Developers for Coaching Courses.
  • On-site visits to ensure operational efficiency on a weekly basis Centre Of Excellence (COEs).
  • Provide timely reports and updates to the Head on the key operational areas.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma and above in any discipline with at least 2 years work experience preferred

Executive, Women’s National Team

Job Summary

Reporting to the Head Coach, Women’s National Team, the Executive, Women’s National Team is responsible in assisting in the operational running of administrative and logistical issues related to National Teams training (priority to the National Women’s A team), matches and competitions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Administrative

  • To liaise with FIFA, AFC, foreign MAs, SNOC, WPL/NL Competitions to ensure that all registration procedures and formalities are performed and completed in advance for the National Teams.
  • To ensure that all travel arrangements including application of leave for players and part-time officials, air-tickets, visa applications, accommodation, travel insurance, travel allowance, and other team documents (e.g. travel info, rooming list, team-list, etc.) are in order before the National Teams’ departure.
  • To assist and prepare the necessary documents (e.g. cash advance statement, submission of boarding passes) when team returns from overseas travel.
  • To keep a record of matches played, including goals and cautions for tournaments (e.g. FIFA/AFC tournaments) as well as players’ National “A” Team Caps record;
  • To ensure that the necessary applications and documents are completed and submitted on time to continue being eligible for SportSG support services.
  • To work closely with Football Sports Science and Medicine department to ensure that players needs are met (eg nutrition, hygiene, injury prevention, match analysis, etc).
  • To prepare the necessary training schedule and disseminate to the relevant parties (e.g. coaches, support staff, corporate communications, etc.).
  • To liaise between National Team players and our sponsors and events.
  • To monitor the well-being of National Team players and their social media behaviour.

Logistics

  • To ensure that the equipment and apparel orders are in place and delivered when required.
  • To keep an inventory record of the equipment and apparel that have been delivered and provide the necessary product code and quantity if top-up order is required.
  • To work on the logistics preparation of equipment and supplies when necessary.

Players’ Welfare

  • To work on the Players Welfare Programme and a Post Career Plan and implement it for the benefit of the players.
  • To work together with the Coach Education Department in updating the latest Coaching Course dates as well as registration paperwork for current and past players.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Women’s National Team, Technical Director, and/or the General Secretary.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Sports or Business Management preferred.
  • At least 1 year of working experience in the related field.

Executive, Grassroots & Women’s Football

Job Summary

Reporting to the Team Lead, Grassroots & Women’s Football (or any other assigned Supervisor), the Executive, Grassroots & Women’s Football is responsible for the administration and management of programmes and activities conducted by the Grassroots & Women’s Football Department.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the Grassroots initiatives under the Unleash the Roar! project and the FAS Girls’ Football Assistance Programme (GAP), as well as Outreach Programmes involving the elderly, underprivileged, and special needs community.
  • Administration of the FAS U12 Development Squad and FAS Girl Cubs Programme – which includes correspondence with coaches, parents and venue providers, player registration, insurance, attendance records, and allowances claims.
  • Management of Grassroots’ Football events including but not limited to the AFC Grassroots’ Football Day and U12 Fiestas.
  • Assist the department to prepare reports for various events such as FAS Congress, FAS Grassroots’ and Women’s Football Committees meetings, AFC and FIFA women’s football reports, etc.
  • Support the department in organization of ad-hoc events such as international women’s matches, competitions and other events.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Team Lead, Grassroots & Women’s Football, Technical Director, or the General Secretary.

Physiotherapist 

Job Summary

Assist the Head, Football Science and Medicine (FSAM) and Senior Physiotherapist in managing the FAS physiotherapy services in optimizing the physical health of FAS football players.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Manage and treat football injuries of football players by:

  • Assessing, examining and providing initial diagnosis of players’ injury.
  • Referring injured players to appropriate medical professionals accordingly.
  • Advising and planning appropriate treatment for players’ injury in consultation with Senior Physiotherapist.
  • Providing acute physiotherapy treatment.
  • Monitoring the progress of players’ recovery.
  • Communicating and advising with relevant medical professional, team officials, coaches, injured footballer and other relevant person on the management, prognosis and progression of players’ injury.

2. Provide On-Field coverage for selected women’s teams’ training and matches (including overseas assignments).

3. Assist with injury prevention management of selected teams through:

  • Injury surveillance and documentation.
  • Recommending and providing updated scientific information of specific football injuries and injury prevention strategies.
  • Educating football players and coaches on injury prevention and management strategies.
  • Working and liaising closely with other sports scientists appointed by FAS on areas of sports sciences (nutrition, exercise physiology etc.) for the support of teams’ physical training requirements, recovery needs and injury prevention strategies.

4. Any other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned by the Head, FSAM, Technical Director and General Secretary.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Physical Therapy/Physiotherapy or equivalent.

Strength & Conditioning Coach

Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Department, Football Science and Medicine or assigned, the Strength & Conditioning (S&C) Coach will work closely with the Football Fitness Coach and FAS Coaches to optimise the physical and fitness capacity of National footballers. The Strength & Conditioning Coach will establish and implement fitness, strength and conditioning programmes for the respective National Teams in consultation with the Football Fitness Coach or assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Operational

  • Develop, conduct and implement strength and conditioning programmes for National teams by:
    • Measuring, examining and assessing players’ and teams’ physical and fitness capacity and capability.
    • Report and interpret testing results timely to coaches and athletes, and assist coaches to make practical use of the results.
    • Planning and implementing appropriate fitness and conditioning programmes according to training and match requirements.
    • Monitoring progress of players’ and teams’ fitness and physical status.
    • Communicating and updating relevant sports science and medical professionals, team officials and coaches on the progress and outcome of players’ and teams’ physical and fitness status.
  • Plan, implement and conduct post-training and post-matches recovery programmes for assigned teams.
  • Assist with injury prevention and performance enhancement programmes of the National Team/s through:
      • Injury surveillance and documentation.
      • Recommending and providing updated scientific information of specific football injuries and injury prevention strategies and performance enhancement strategies.
      • Educating players and coaches on injury prevention and management strategies, including physical performance enhancement programmes and strategies.
  • Working and liaising closely with other sports scientists and medicinal personnel appointed by FAS in areas of nutrition, exercise physiology, rehabilitation among others for support of the teams’ physical training requirements, recovery needs and injury prevention strategies.
  • Assist with planning and promoting safe and healthy football sports.
  • Work closely with football medicine professionals to provide specific rehabilitation and conditioning programmes for injured players.

2. Strategic

  • Assist with planning, designing, organising and conducting Continue Education courses for FAS coaches, officials, exercise scientists and other relevant personnel in the areas of football fitness, strength and conditioning.
  • Lead research, development and innovation initiatives in S&C and other related areas of sport sciences.
  • Provide on-field coverage for selected training and matches of National Team/s (including overseas assignments).

3. Administrative

  • Assist with the administration of the FAS S&C facilities by ensuring cleanliness, all equipment are accounted for and maintenance schedules kept.
  • Assist with the administrative and programming aspects of internship programmes.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned.

4. Education

  • To develop and deliver educational materials, as well as to educate coaches, athletes and students through the means of workshops and courses.
  • To teach, mentor and supervise interns and trainees attached to Football Association of Singapore.

Requirements:

We are looking for individuals who are committed to the sporting success in high performance sport.

In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Academic qualification in Physical Education, Sport Science, Strength and Conditioning or equivalent.
  • Preferably with Certified strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (Level 2) certification.
  • At least 3 years of working experience as a Strength and Conditioning Coach, with strong background in the application of progressive, evidence-based S & C support to individual athletes, teams and coaches, in a high-performance sporting environment.
  • Good background knowledge and understanding of other sport science disciplines such as physiology, nutrition, exercise/sport rehabilitation, and biomechanics.
  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, effective negotiation and consultation skills open and dedicated to engaging in respectful and effective relationship building with stakeholders from diverse sports and backgrounds.
  • Ability to educate and motivate athletes and coaches to embrace scientific support
  • High levels of initiative and responsibility
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently and as part of a team
