Team Manager, Junior/National Development Centre

Job Summary

The Development Centres (Junior National Development Centres (JNDC) and National Development Center (NDC)), under the supervision of the FAS, aim to develop future Singapore National Team players who will not only represent Singapore but also raise the level of our National Teams.

 

Reporting to the Senior Head, Technical Administration, the Development Centre Team Manager is responsible for the operational and administrative management of the Junior National Development Centres (JNDC) and National Development Center (NDC). The role extends to supporting FAS Youth National Teams.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with the FAS, football clubs, football academies, schools, SportSG, MCCY, and other relevant parties to facilitate player release for local and international matches. Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Schedule Planning: Collaborate with the FAS Technical Department, JNDC, NDC, and National Team coaches to develop annual training and competition schedules, considering school and international competition calendars.
  • Strategic Direction: Work closely with coaches of FAS Technical Director, JNDC, NDC, and FAS Youth National Teams to provide strategic input for player development.
  • Facilities & Equipment: Ensure all necessary facilities and equipment are available for NDC and JNDC training sessions.

Executive, Talent ID Operations

Job Summary

Reporting to the Head, Talent Identification, the staff shall be instrumental in the day-to-day administration, planning, and execution of the Talent Identification programme for the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and National Development Centres.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Planning & Coordination: Assist in organising, coordinating, and implementing football talent identification events, exercises, and projects.

Logistics Officer, National Development Centre

Job Summary

 

The Logistics Officer is responsible for effectively managing and maintaining sports equipment and gear for Junior National Development Centres (JNDC), National Development Center (NDC), and Youth National Teams. Reporting to the Senior Head, Technical Administration, the role includes inventory control, preparation for training and matches, and logistics support for overseas tours. The role extends to supporting FAS Youth National Teams.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Equipment Management: Take custody and responsibility for all equipment and supplies, ensuring they are secure and properly maintained.
  • Preparation & Cleanup: Prepare training and match gear before events and ensure they are correctly stored or cleaned afterwards.
  • Maintenance: Ensure that all equipment is in usable condition and is clean, performing minor repairs if necessary.
  • Logistics for Overseas Tours: Prepare and pack all necessary equipment and supplies for overseas tournaments and training tours.
  • Transport Assistance: Assist in transporting team equipment and supplies domestically and internationally.
  • Team-Specific Responsibilities: Primarily responsible for JNDC, NDC, and, at times, assigned to Youth National Teams.

Executive, Technical Division Office

Job Summary

 

Reporting to the Senior Head, Technical Administration, the Executive, Technical Division Office, will serve as a strategic assistant responsible for administrative functions, financial management, and logistics within the Technical Division and its related departments, with a specific focus on the Academy Accreditation System (AAS).

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Strategic Assistance: Assist the Technical Director and Senior Head, Technical Administration, in implementing the FAS Technical Division’s annual operating plan and budget.
  • National Development Centers: Provide administrative support for the National Development and Training Centers (NDC & JNDC).

Assistant Technical Producer

Job Summary

Part of the FAS Content team, the Assistant Technical Producer, Content & Production is predominantly involved in the live production of the Singapore Premier League (SPL) matches, as well as produces content for various FAS and SPL platforms.

Job Description

  • Assist the Technical producer to manage, account and maintain broadcast facilities and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and attend to technical issues with regards to broadcast facilities and equipment
  • Oversee delivery of feeds to various platforms on matchdays
  • Set up control room and studio equipment on matchdays

Fitness Coach

Job Summary

Reporting to the Head, Football Science and Medicine (FSAM), the Fitness Coach will be responsible for the physical development of the assigned National Teams. The Fitness Coach will look after assigned teams with the primary aim of reducing the risk of injury and exploiting each player’s physical capacities. This involves establishing, developing and implementing fitness, strength and conditioning, injury prevention and recovery programs.

Job Description

  • Planning and implementation of all physical matters of the assigned team
  • Regular implementation and evaluation of players’ and teams’ physical conditions (fitness test). Individualisation of players’ fitness programs according to their performance data/status
  • Load and wellness monitoring via GPS and others, as well as post-data processing and evaluation
  • Timely communication and submission of relevant performance topics, reports, and programs within the multidisciplinary team (coaches, medical staff, team officials, Head, etc.)
  • Working with National Teams coaching staff to achieve objectives concerning individual players/team performance

Physiotherapist

Job Summary

Reporting to the Interim Head, Football Science and Medicine (FSAM), the Physiotherapist will be responsible for optimising the physical health of FAS football players.

Job Description

1. Manage and treat football injuries of football Men’s and Women’s players by:

  • Assessing, examining and providing initial diagnosis of players’ injury
  • Refer injured players to appropriate medical professionals accordingly
  • Advising and planning appropriate treatment for players’ injuries
  • Providing acute physiotherapy treatment.
  • Monitoring the progress of players’ recovery.
  • Communicating and advising with relevant medical professional, team officials, coaches, injured footballer and other relevant person on the management, prognosis and progression of players’ injury

2. Provide On-Field coverage for selected Men’s and Women’s teams’ training and matches (including overseas assignments)

3. Assist with injury prevention management of selected teams through:

  • Injury surveillance and documentation
  • Recommending and providing updated scientific information of specific football injuries and injury prevention strategies
  • Educating football players and coaches on injury prevention and management strategies
  • Working and liaising closely with other sports scientists appointed by FAS on areas of sports sciences (nutrition, exercise physiology etc.) for the support of teams’ physical training requirements, recovery needs and injury prevention strategies

Senior Executive, Commercial & Marketing

Reporting to the Director of Commercial and Marketing, The Senior Executive is responsible for managing the delivery of Commercial Operations requirements in relation to the operational & partner needs within FAS competitions, events & sponsorship obligations.

Job Description

The Senior Executive’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • As a member of the Commercial & Marketing Department, the executive will be required to manage the successful implementation and delivery for any FAS competitions, events and sponsorship deliverable within the defined scope.
  • Actively participating in operational decision-making process for the FAS competitions and events.
  • Ensuring the operational needs of the department and sponsorship deliverables are met.
  • Liaise with relevant partners & agencies to ensure the execution of all commercial obligations and sponsorship deliverables are aligned with the commercial concepts and requirements within the given guidelines and timeframe.

Staff Coach, National Women’s Youth Teams (Project Basis)

Job Summary

The FAS is looking for staff coaches to be part of the various National Women’s Youth Teams (Under-19, Under-16 and Under-14). Reporting to the Technical Director, and the Head Coach, Women’s National ‘A’ Team, the Staff Coach, National Women’s Teams is responsible for the preparation of the respective National Women’s Teams.

Job Description

  • Plan and strategise the performance of the National Women’s Youth Teams with the target of meeting performance targets of all international and regional.
  • Responsible for selecting players, planning and implementing effective training programmes and coordinating programmes and activities and commitments of the Teams in consultation with the Technical Director and other National coaches of youth.

Lead/Performance Pathways Scientist (Football Performance Coach)

Job Summary

In this role, you will work closely with the Head Coaches and all relevant UTR! staff to optimise the NDC players’ performance and development. For the Lead Performance Coach, you will be responsible for establishing and implementing the physical performance pathway and sport science support in consultation with the FAS Head of Football Science and Medicine (FSAM).

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement the NDC performance and sport science program that focuses on individual athletic development.
  • Implement strength and conditioning sessions for individual players and assigned NDC teams.
  • Lead the team’s physical preparation and sport science support during training and match days.
  • Collate all relevant subjective and objective data (including GPS) and report findings to all relevant staff, to help with load monitoring and decision-making.
  • Responsible for performance testing and player profiling, including growth and maturation, physical profiling, wellness, and workload monitoring.
  • Work collaboratively with other UTR! sport science and medicine staff on injury prevention and rehabilitation programs.
  • For the Lead Performance Coach, you will work closely with the technical coaches and other UTR! sport scientists to lead and implement Long-Term Athletic Development (LTAD) programs for all NDC players, to achieve optimal technical, tactical and physical outcomes. You will perform a leading role to develop, implement and operationalise the use of technologies (including GPS, video and Athlete Monitoring System) for the NDC teams. You will ensure continuity and alignment of player monitoring and performance plans between the NDC and Singapore National Teams.

 

Requirements

  • BSc in sport science, strength & conditioning or equivalent
  • Experience of working in elite football academy set-up (minimum two years)
  • Post-graduate qualification in sport science, strength & conditioning or equivalent (preferred for Lead position)
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience of working full-time in elite youth setup (preferred for Lead position)
  • Fitness/strength & conditioning accreditation (NSCA, ASCA, UKSCA, AFC Fitness Level 2, or equivalent)
  • Experience in delivering/contributing to injury rehabilitation/return to play programs

Goalkeeper Coach NDC/JDC

National Development Centre (NDC)

The National Development Centre squads commenced training in May 2023 and will move to the newly developed NDC at Kallang Football Hub in late 2023. The NDC aims to develop future Singapore National Team players who will represent Singapore and raise our National Teams’ level. Players attending the FAS/UTR NDC will train regularly and in addition, represent their clubs in the Singapore Youth League.

 

Junior National Development Centre (JNDC)

This centre was set up in July 2023 to cater for young players in the U8 to U12 age range. Players identified to be part of this scheme train 3x per week and participate in games at the weekend. The objective of the Junior NDC’s is to raise the level of young players entering our FAS/UTR National Development Centre at the age of 13.

 

Job Summary

Reporting initially to the Head GK Coach NDC/JDC. (GK Coaches working with age groups representing Singapore in AFC/AFF Competitions will report to the Technical Director, FAS, concerning these squads.)

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coach different JDC/NDC GKs as directed by Head GK Coach

 

  • Design and deliver age-appropriate coaching sessions to GK’S in allocated age groups

 

  • Work closely with age group Head Coaches to ensure GKs receive appropriate training when integrated with the main squad and when training in isolation

 

  • Work with age group Head Coaches to ensure optimum match day performance from all GK’s

 

  • Produce GK player reports (3 times) per year

 

  • Work closely with the FAS Head of Talent ID to identify suitable GK’s for NDC

 

 

Prerequisites

  • Experience working with potentially elite young GK’s in the U10 to U16 age range at both a professional level and, ideally, with National Youth Teams
