AFC SMT INSPECTION VISIT TO SINGAPORE ( 19th – 23rd August)
SINGAPORE, 23rd August 2013: S.League hosted a delegation from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for an SMT ( Special Mission Team) inspection from Monday to Fri, 19th to 23rd August. The 5-man delegation, led by head of delegation Mr Steve Tae H. Kim of AFC, began the tour to assess S.League’s AFC Champions League application on Monday morning with a debriefing session with FAS’ management staff headed by S.League CEO Mr. Lim Chin, and attended by respective Heads Of Department (HOD) including: Operations, Competitions, Admin & Finance, Game Development and Marketing & Communications. The inspection then commenced proper at Jalan Besar Stadium, which was followed by visits to the home stadiums of the eight local clubs over this week.
The inspection concluded on Friday, 23rd August when the AFC SMT delegation assembled at Jalan Besar Stadium to share their feedback with FAS General Secretary, Mr. Winston Lee, S.League CEO Mr. Lim Chin and the respective HODs, from their findings in an interactive session in which FAS was informed that the outcome of the inspection would be released sometime in November. It was an informative and insightful exchange of pointers on how local football could place itself in good stead at international levels. This was followed by a signing between Mr Kim, Mr Lee and Mr Lim to mark the completion of the AFC SMT inspection for this year.
