Criteria For Coaches Interested in Overseas Courses

A coach who is interested to continue his/her learning by taking an overseas coaching course conducted by an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Convention Member must seek approval from the Football Association of Singapore (FAS). The FAS will only consider applications if:  

  • the coach has previously submitted an application form to do the said coaching course in Singapore;

  • the coach meets the entry requirement of the said overseas coaching course; and

  • the coach submits to the CED Department at least 20 session plans from the past 1 year of relevant coaching experience.

   
    • Upon approval by FAS’s Technical Director, the Coach Education & Development (CED) Department will provide a supporting letter to the said coach to join a coaching course overseas.

    • An approved coach who has completed a coaching course overseas is required to complete the relevant theory exam components with CoachSG and/or FAS CED Department and possess a current and valid First Aid + Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification in order for their Diploma to be recognised by CoachSG.

   

For AFC ‘C’ Diploma Diploma completed overseas, coaches must:

  • pass the SG-Coach Level 1 Theory Exam;

  • pass the Foundational Sports Science;

  • pass the FAS Football Specific Exam; and

  • possess a current and valid First Aid + AED certification.

 

For AFC ‘B’ Diploma Diploma completed overseas, coaches must:

  • pass the SG-Coach Level 2 Theory Exam;

  • pass the Intermediate Sports Science Exam;

  • pass the FAS Football Specific Exam; and

  • possess a current and valid First Aid + AED certification.

 

For AFC ‘A’ Diploma Diploma completed overseas, coaches must:

  • the FAS Football Specific Exam; and

  • possess a current and valid First Aid + AED certification.

 

For AFC ‘Pro’ Diploma Diploma completed overseas, coaches must:

  • pass the FAS Football Specific Exam; and

  • possess a current and valid First Aid + AED certification.

 

For AFC Goalkeeping ‘B’ Diploma Diploma completed overseas, coaches must:

  • possess a current and valid First Aid + AED certification.

 

For AFC Goalkeeping ‘A’ Diploma Diploma completed overseas, coaches must:

  • a current and valid First Aid + AED certification.
