CoachSG Virtual Conference 2020 completed


SINGAPORE, 10 NOVEMBER 2020 The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) recently completed the CoachSG Virtual Conference 2020, an annual affair that was held virtually for the first time ever.


FAS Technical Director, Mr Joseph Palatsides and National Youth Team Coach Mr Philippe Aw spoke at the conference, which was held from 20 to 22 October 2020. The duo were nominated to present for 90 minutes, including a 30-minute question-and-answer session, to the participating football coaches.


This year, the conference was themed “Think Global, ACT Local”, where ACT stands for Adapt and Thrive, Create and Challenge, and Transform through Innovation. This was covered in the FAS presentation in order to highlight the importance of staying relevant despite the ongoing global pandemic so that we can all be better equipped to face the challenges ahead. At the same time, it is imperative to create new opportunities, challenge existing boundaries and transform the coaching industry and sporting ecosystem through innovation.

Mr Zainudeen Hassan, Head (Coach Education and Development), FAS, commented: “Since the middle of this year, we have rolled out this contents to Coach Developers, Heads of Youth Development and Coaches from clubs’ Centres of Excellence, course participants, ActiveSG Football Academy and now to NROC-registered coaches. The next big target group would be MOE Teachers and Coaches as well as all certified Coaches in our database, as we aim to deliver the contents across all levels of coaches in Singapore.”
