SINGAPORE, 9 JANUARY 2023 – The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) has become the latest Member Association (MA) to be conferred with the Pro Licence membership under the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Coaching Convention.

The assessment took place in September 2022 and was announced today by the AFC. With this membership, the FAS is now able to issue the Professional Diploma, in addition to the ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ Coaching Licenses.

Mr Michael Brown, FAS Technical Director, said: “We are proud to have the AFC accord us with the Pro Level membership under the Coaching Convention. This achievement is a culmination of the tireless efforts of the FAS Coach Education and Development Department, the Coach Developers as well as the support and guidance from the esteemed members of the AFC Coach Education Panel.

“With this membership, the FAS is one of nine AFC Member Associations, which include Australia, Japan, and Korea, that can now issue the Professional Diploma as well as the ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ Coaching Licenses by conducting suitable courses that are tailored to the needs of the local coaching community while keeping in line with AFC’s guidelines.

“The FAS is constantly striving to raise the overall standards of coaching proficiency and competency in Singapore, and this accolade will only serve to further drive us forward in this aspect.”
