Assistant Coach Developer Mr Chitrakar told FAS.org.sg: “Both Philippe and I were glad to welcome back the course participants for Part 2 as we could observe the participants’ progression throughout the week. The feedback and discussions to them will be useful as they proceed to do their Work Experience segment of the course. We look forward to seeing their progress when they return in Part 4.”
Course participant Mr Robert Eziakor, Head of Youth Development at Hougang United, shared: “The course was interactive and interesting. It provided us participants with great exposure to remain relevant to the dynamism of football.
“The practical sessions led by the Coach Developers also provided much needed clarity on deliverance and education, especially amongst the elite youth players. I am excited to apply what I’ve learnt during the course and share the knowledge with my colleagues and players.”
Fellow participant Mr Leonard Tan found the course to be enriching: “The course was designed to encourage participants to think in depth about the way a training session is planned and delivered to our contexts and Part 2 cemented the ideology.
“It was a great learning experience to witness fellow participants conduct session, provide great inputs and bounce ideas off each other when posed with mind-invoking questions.”

Mr Zainudeen Hassan, Head, Coach Education and Development at the FAS, highlighted a change in course format this time compared to previous coaching courses.
“Following feedback from previous participants and the Coach Developers, the assignments given in Part 2 were not summative and the participants were able to update them throughout the course period. This change was introduced to allow participants to constantly self reflect and evaluate their own work.”
The course participants will now proceed to Part 3 of the course where they will proceed to complete their Work Experience segment. Part 4 will resume at the end of May 2023.
