SINGAPORE, 30 DECEMBER 2017: In line with the Football Association of Singapore’s (FAS) strategic intent to build an ecosystem of coaches, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) ‘C’ Coaching Certificate Course will be conducted in February 2018.

Players in Singapore’s domestic professional league clubs are encouraged to register for the AFC ‘C’ Coaching Certificate Course, which would provide them the opportunity to develop their capabilities in a different aspect of football and equip them with the skills to coach players aged between 10-13 years.

The eight-day course will take place from 5-14 February 2018 (excluding weekend) and each participating club is allowed to register up to four players, on a first-come, first-served basis. In recognition of former and current National Team players’ contributions to the nation, players with at least 25 caps will be given a full waiver of course fees.

Hougang United FC head coach Philippe Aw, who assists in the conduct of coaching courses said: “It is heartening to see that FAS is investing to build a strong network of coaches and helping the club players to be future-ready by encouraging them to take up coaching. Not only will players learn how to coach at the course, they will also be able to see from the perspective of a coach, which will be beneficial to their playing career. I hope that players will take this opportunity to pick up a new skill and contribute to the local football fraternity.”
