SINGAPORE, 11 MARCH 2023 – The Football Association of Singapore recently concluded the FAS Introductory Coaching Course for Lion City Sailors (LCS) Academy coaches and participating Men’s National Team players.

The course was conducted in collaboration with LCS to provide interested players and academy coaches the opportunity to start their football coaching journey.

Held over two-day courses in two weeks last month at the Lion City Sailors Training Centre, a total of 26 participants came under the mentorship of the Lead Coach Developer, Mr Loh Ngiap Tai, and the Assistant Coach Developer, Mr Abdul Musawir.

In the second week (20 and 21 February 2023), the focus was on participants-led practical sessions, where course participants had a consultation session with the Coach Developers to discuss and refine their session plan before working in groups to deliver said plans.

During each delivery session, another course participant will film the practical session to allow the rest in the group to review among themselves before their feedback session with both Coach Developers later.

Participant Izz Haziq Izan told FAS: “During the 4 days, the FAS Introductory Coaching Course gave me new insights into coaching which I can apply in my future sessions. The course also provided a platform to work with and learn from other participants who have diverse backgrounds and different experiences to share.

“Overall, I believe the FAS Introductory Coaching Course has set the foundations for me to further my coaching education in the FAS/AFC ‘C’ Diploma (SG-Coach Level 1 Full Integration) Coaching Course and beyond.”
