FAS’ Reply To Forum Letter Dated 16 February, titled “Form hybrid S.League of pro, semi-pro teams”
We thank Mr Ivan Goh for his letter “Form hybrid S.League of pro, semi-pro teams” (TODAY, 16 February 2015).
The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and the S.League are constantly looking for ways to improve the S.League. FAS President Mr Zainudin Nordin recently revealed plans for a strategic review of the S.League this year to identify the role of the S.League in Singapore’s football ecosystem in the future and with the aim of improving the experience for fans, players and clubs. This will be a thorough process involving all stakeholders to ensure a better and stronger S.League emerges. Most importantly, we have to ensure that it becomes even more attractive to football fans.
As Mr Goh has rightly pointed out, it is imperative for the S.League to support the National Team by generating local players who can will bring success for Singapore. We would like to reassure him that it has always been, and will continue to be, an important objective of the S.League.
We are very grateful for the continued support of fans like Mr Goh and we always welcome constructive feedback and recommendations.
