FAS’ reply to Media Queries on Brian Eastick
The Football Association of Singapore has, in recent years, invited several international football officials from FIFA, UEFA and leading member associations including French Football Federation and Austrian Football Association, to Singapore. In addition to seeking their views and assessments of our existing footballing programmes, we are always looking to tap on their respective areas of expertise and learn from, and adopt, the best practices in modern football.
As part of our ongoing efforts to constantly improve our standards – both on and off the pitch, we have invited former England youth coach Brian Eastick to Singapore and share with us his views and recommendations relating to our current structure. Mr Eastick had been involved in several editions of the FIFA Youth World Cup, and we look forward to his views and suggestions relating to our plan to bid for the 2019 edition of the competition.
While we are encouraged by several leading officials’ positive assessments of our programmes and goals in recent years, we acknowledge that there remains much hard work ahead. We will continue to look at ways to strengthen our capabilities, including the transfer of information, know-how and expertise in key areas pertaining to the various aspects of football.
