In 2011, the criteria for goalscoring-based awards was amended to include only league goals and this has been implemented with effect from 2012. The intent was for the rules to be consistent for both the Top Scorer of the Year Award and the award for players who score more than 100 goals.

Presently there are three players who are close to cross the 100-league goals mark , namely Qiu Li (99 goals), Masrezwan Masturi (83 goals) and Ahmad Latiff (79 goals). We hope they will score many goals and break the 100-league goals mark next season.
