The Under-23 International Friendly match between Singapore and Indonesia was organised as part of our ongoing preparations for the 2015 SEA Games. More competitions and matches, such as last night’s match, are being lined up for these players, and details will be announced at a later date.

“The friendly match last night was a good opportunity for many of our young players, who are eligible for the SEA Games, to be tested in a high intensity match against a top regional opponent.

We also wish to share that the match was originally scheduled for 1st April to avoid clashing with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup match between Home United FC and Churchill Brothers. The match was rearranged to be held on 2nd April due to a request by the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI).

The Football Association of Singapore has a progressive approach to the competitions we enter our teams in, and we view all competitions we are participating in very seriously. We wish to again highlight that last night’s match was part of our ongoing SEA Games preparations.
