FAS’ response to media queries regarding footballers’ diet and nutrition

Share

“National ‘A’ team players are required to go through the FIFA Pre-Competition Medical Assessment, and the Football Association of Singapore Football Science and Medicine (FAS FSAM) department closely monitors the players’ cholesterol and body fat percentage levels. Players who register levels above the recommended range are put through a tailored programme with a dietician and sport scientist.

“The department also monitors the Young Lions players’ cholesterol, blood glucose and body fat percentage levels, which are similar to the National Team’s.

“The FSAM department have been working closely with the Singapore Sport Institute to develop a dietary guide and for sports science support for the team.”
