FAS response to media query on allowing fans at SPL matches

Share

Today’s announcement from the Covid-19 Ministerial Task Force is very much a welcomed one and a boost towards resuming sports events. Our Singapore Premier League (SPL) fans have been buzzing since the new season kicked off on 13 March and I have had the same question posed to me on more than one occasion – “When can we support our team from the stands again?”

“Since the pilot test that allowed 200 fans to attend an AIA Singapore Premier League (SPL) match was conducted at Our Tampines Hub last December, and as part of our scenario planning, we have formulated plans to cater to fans’ entry for our matches this season.

“While there is obvious excitement for us to resume as per normal once more, the health and safety of everyone involved will remain our top priority. Hence, the FAS will submit the proposed protocols and procedures to the relevant authorities for approval in order to see football fans back inside the stadium.”
