FAS response to media query on Covid-19 cases in Suzuki Cup bubble
“As of 10 December 2021, there have been 4 members from Malaysia and 1 from Cambodia who tested positive for COVID-19 and are currently placed in isolation. We are looking after these individuals and their respective conditions are being monitored on a daily basis. Two of the cases from the Malaysian delegation tested positive from their On Arrival Test (OAT) which was conducted when they arrived from Kuala Lumpur on 3 December 2021. A player from Myanmar was previously also placed in isolation but his result was expunged on 6 December due to it being a false positive. To date, there is no indication that the active cases are that of the Omicron variant.
“The AFF and the Local Organising Committee will work with the relevant authorities on the appropriate measures, including stricter regulations, should there be an increase in the number of cases.”
