FAS’ response to media query on FAS’ drive to encourage players to lead smoke-free lifestyles

Share

“In line with raising professionalism of the Singapore Premier League (SPL), the Football Association of Singapore has embarked on a partnership with the Health Promotion Board (HPB). The vision is to have all players in the SPL leading smoke-free lifestyles.

“It is mandatory for players and club officials to attend the educational programme by HPB, which seeks to raise awareness of the harmful effects of smoking. The FAS is heartened that the clubs’ chairmen are fully supportive of this movement.

“In addition to attending the programme by the HPB, a clause has been included in the Young Lions players’ contract and code of conduct to discourage smoking.”
