Share

“In the Singapore Cup match fixture on Monday 31 October 2022 between Young Lions FC and Lion City Sailors FC, three of the latter’s players were found guilty of not performing the mandatory post-match handshake at the centre circle with their opponents.

“Under Article 31.1 of the Singapore Cup 2022 regulations, it states that: “Players from both the teams are required to assemble at the centre circle with the Match Officials for a post-match handshake. Any player who fails to do so shall be issued with a mandatory fine of Five Hundred Dollars (SGD $500.00).”

“As a result, the three players from Lion City Sailors – Kim Shin Wook, Maxime Lestienne and Diego Lopes – have been fined S$500 each.

“This is the first time this season that a player has been found guilty of this offence. Four players this season have also been issued with fines and/or bans for other offences which include, accumulating excessive yellow and red cards as well as for violent conduct.”
