FAS’ response to query on measures against novel coronavirus
“In light of the 2019 novel coronavirus, the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is putting in place a range of precautionary measures with regards to our upcoming events to further enhance the protection of its employees and stakeholders.
- Participants of all FAS-organised events are advised to not report for the event should they feel unwell.
- Health checks and temperature screening for participants will be conducted prior to entry to the venue. We will require participants to register and provide travel declaration upon arrival to the event venue. Participants are also required to provide contact details for the purposes of contact tracing.
“As the DORSCON level has officially risen to the Orange level, the FAS may take the decision to postpone, suspend or cancel its events (including SPL match fixtures) in the best interests of all parties. This will be determined after a comprehensive assessment of the situation and in consultation with the relevant government authorities. The FAS will ensure participants are notified of any postponement, suspension or cancellation in good time.
“The FAS has also advised all SPL clubs to avoid any overseas travel for its pre-season training. Clubs that are travelling overseas are required to provide the FAS with its list of players, coaches and other members that are travelling officially with the club.
“The safety and well-being of our staff and stakeholders is of utmost importance to the FAS and we will continue to monitor and work closely with the relevant authorities for the latest medical advice and developments of the novel coronavirus.”
