FAS resumes Introductory Coaching Course
SINGAPORE, 3 MARCH 2022 – The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) recently concluded a FAS Introductory Coaching Course for 15 participants.
This was the first time that this course has been held since 2020, due to complications caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Over two weekends in February spanning the 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th, FAS Coach Developers, Mr S. Subramani and Mr Loh Ngiap Tai, oversaw the course for 15 members from the general public.
Conducted at Geylang Training Centre on all four days between 8am to 5pm, all involved had to abide by the current safe management measures and undergo Antigen Rapid Testing prior to the start of each day’s session.
A standalone course that equips participants with the basic knowledge and skills for coaching, this Introductory Coaching Course comprised both theory and practical sessions. It is targeted at youths (18 years and above), volunteer-coaches and working adults and is a pre-requisite for the FAS ‘C‘ Coaching Certificate Course. More HERE.
FAS Head of CED, Mohamed Zainudeen Hassan, said: “With a majority of courses having had to be postponed due to Covid-19 over the past two years, the FAS is looking to resume these where possible during 2022 and will release updates when available. After the course, all the participants were encouraged to go out to coach and work with a senior coach so as to give them a better idea of the role before they take up the ‘C’ Course in the near future.”
