The Women’s Challenge Cup Finals 2011 will be played on Saturday, 26 November 2011, with the FAS Young Women pitting their best against Borussia Zamrud FC.

The FAS Young Women team is a young side comprising of youths aged between 16 to 21 years old. They have also been training together for a few years now and formed a large part of the National team that had recently participated in the AFF Women’s Championship in Laos where they put up a brave performance against Indonesia, Vietnam & host Laos.

Borussia Zamrud FC on the other end, with the League title in their bag already, have had a slow start in this season’s Challenge Cup with most of their players missing in action during the early stages of the tournament.

The team comprises of many players who were previously from Ang Mo Kio United FC (2010 Women’s Challenge Cup Champions) such as key players; Chen Caiying in defence, Chen Yuegui in midfield & Luo Jianzhen in attack. Given the hiccups they suffered early on, the team managed to get their acts together and are now in contention of the championship.

Just to name a few of the players, No.12 of FAS Young Women, forward Fatin Afiqah with six goals under her belt for this campaign, will certainly go in search of more goals to end her year on a high note. For Borussia Zamrud FC, No.11 Luo Jianzhen will be looking to extend her 15-goal record from the Premier League in the finals.
