FIFA GRASSROOTS WORKSHOP TO RUN FOR THIRD TIME

SINGAPORE, 18 NOVEMBER 2016: The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is pleased to announce that a FIFA Instructor Sam Schweingruber will be conducting the FIFA Grassroots Workshop from 23–26 November 2016 for 37 coaches from the FAS Cubs Grassroots programme, S.League clubs’ children’s programmes, ActiveSG Football Academy, and former and current national players. The Workshop will then conclude with the Grassroots Festival on 27 November 2016.

It will be the third time the Workshop is being organised in Singapore, and will serve as a platform for grassroots coaches to receive further coaching education through both theoretical and practical classes. Topics that will be covered in the Workshop include the Grassroots Philosophy, understanding characteristics of children and educational approaches, and processes involved in the organisation of a festival.

With a growing number of coaches involved in children’s football development in Singapore, FAS aims to give more coaches the opportunity to attend the FIFA Grassroots Workshop and Festival which will be held every year.

General Manager for Grassroots and Women’s Football Ms Julie Teo said: “Through the FIFA Grassroots Workshop and Festival, we want to give our coaches continuous learning opportunities so that they can further hone their skills in coaching children and promote the FIFA and FAS grassroots philosophy in children’s football. We are honoured to have FIFA Instructor Sam Schweingruber share his insights with our grassroots coaches.”

Children are invited to participate in the Workshop’s practical sessions and at the Festival. Interested parties can find out more details below:
