SINGAPORE, 22 MAY 2016: The first FIFA “Live Your Goals” (LYG) campaign has arrived in Singapore, with a successful launch this weekend at Queensway Secondary School and Bowen Secondary School on Saturday 21 May 2016 and Sunday 22 May 2016 respectively, attracting about 50 girls and their parents.

The launch of the FIFA “Live Your Goals” campaign encompassed a football festival which featured a football clinic and exciting small-sided games, plus opportunities to meet members of the Singapore Women’s National Team. The campaign, introduced at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011, targets and inspires girls and women to play football and stay in the game.

“After months of planning and preparations, we are pleased that the FIFA “Live Your Goals” campaign is finally launched in Singapore. We hope that the festival can reach out to girls and provide an avenue for them to play football regularly, eventually raising awareness and interest for women’s football in Singapore,” said Ms Julie Teo, General Manager, Grassroots, Women’s Football and Volunteer Management, Football Association of Singapore (FAS).

Following the launch, there will be free weekly sessions of the LYG sessions held at both locations for girls aged between 6 to 15 years old. Participants should attend in sports attire and football boots or running/turf shoes. On-site registration is available, but interested parties are encouraged to register earlier by writing in to [email protected] to secure available slots.
