Goalkeeper Coach Lee Bee Seng Joins Warriors FC
SINGAPORE, 27 JULY 2016: The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) today announced that Goalkeeper Coach Lee Bee Seng has joined S.League club Warriors FC. Coach Lee is excited about the new challenge – training goalkeepers on a daily basis at the club level. He said: “As an ex-national player, football has always had a special place in my heart. When I was appointed to the national setup in January 2000, it was a marriage of my passion and my work – indeed, as the saying goes ‘Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life’.
“It has been an honour for me to be part of a strong and dedicated technical team that has developed many great goalkeepers and outfield players over the years. I am grateful for the experience of working alongside past coaches in the National Team set-up like Raddy Avramovic and Aleksandar Bozenko, as well as technical directors Slobodan Pavkovic and Michel Sablon. Michel is a leader who has an excellent track record and the backing of a strong team, including several well-qualified technical personnel. With the full support from our stakeholders, I believe that FAS will achieve success in the implementation of its youth development masterplan that was recently unveiled by Michel and his team.
“Over the past 16 years with FAS, I have groomed several National Team goalkeepers and I am proud that my efforts had borne fruit, as several of them had put up strong performances for the matches they were fielded in. I am also appreciative of FAS management’s strong support ─ including that of past and present General Secretaries such as John Koh, Steven Yeo and Winston Lee ─ and the many opportunities that they had given me along the way.
“Moving forward, I will be coaching both younger and first team goalkeepers at the club level, and helping them to maximise their potential. I look forward to furthering my contributions towards Singapore’s football scene at Warriors,” he concluded.
FAS General Secretary Winston Lee thanked Coach Bee Seng for his contribution to the organisation. He said: ‚ÄúBee Seng has contributed significantly to Singapore goalkeeping for the past sixteen years, playing a pivotal role in the development of Singapore‚Äôs top goalkeepers such as Lionel Lewis, Hassan Sunny and Izwan Mahbud. Bee Seng’s skill and experience will surely be an asset to Warriors FC. We would like to thank him for his commitment and contributions to Singapore football, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.‚Äù
