Inaugural FAS Grassroots Festival To Be Held On Wednesday
SINGAPORE, 23 NOVEMBER 2015: The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is pleased to announce that the inaugural FAS Grassroots Festival will be held this Wednesday 25 November at Jalan Besar Stadium. It will mark the conclusion of the ongoing FIFA Grassroots Workshop, which began on Saturday 21 November.
The Festival aims to promote grassroots football to the children of Singapore, therefore increasing participation in the sport and also to educate the public on the philosophy of grassroots football. It will be held from 9-11am and is open to all children aged 12 and below.
After the Festival on Wednesday, grassroots football will then be brought to the streets as the FAS Grassroots Street Football Festival will be organised from 4-7pm on 27 and 29 November (Friday and Sunday) at The [email protected] Bay. It is held in conjunction with the SG Heart Map programme, and in collaboration with ActiveSG’s sports festival. This will bring the idea that grassroots football can be played anywhere by anyone to life. Events on the day will include the Panna 1 v 1 and 2 v 2 Challenges, as well as the Fun Games 4 v 4 Challenge.
These events were made possible by the kind support of the Japan Football Association.
