SINGAPORE, 5 MARCH 2015: The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is pleased to confirm that Irfan Fandi has joined the Courts Young Lions (CYL) squad until 30 June 2015. This will enable him to be a part of the Under-23 National Team’s preparations for this year’s Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, the first to be held in Singapore since 1993.

Said CYL head coach Aide Iskandar: “We are happy to have Irfan in the Courts Young Lions squad as he is a talented and up-and-coming young player. Irfan’s inclusion means that I will have more options in both defence and attack as he can play in both positions. Like all other players, he will be fighting for a place in the SEA Games squad.

“Although he has physical presence, the fact remains that he is still young and growing and I will make sure that he is paced correctly to optimise his development as a player.”

Irfan, 17, will feature in tonight’s Great Eastern-YEO’S S.League match against Tampines Rovers at Jurong West Stadium.
