Lions to play Kuwait in international friendly
Match on 1 June is part of Abu Dhabi training camp ahead of Asian Cup final round qualifying

SINGAPORE, 12 MAY 2022 – The Singapore Men’s National Team will face Kuwait in an international ‘A’ friendly this June as part of preparations for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup China 2023™ Qualifiers Final Round.
The match will take place on 1 June at the Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates as part of a training camp ahead of the Qualifiers. It will be the 10th meeting between both sides and the first since January 2008, when goals from Fahrudin Mustafic and Aleksandar Duric sealed a 2-0 friendly victory in Muscat, Oman.
Takayuki Nishigaya’s charges are scheduled to depart Singapore on 29 May for the United Arab Emirates before then traveling on to Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic after the training camp. More details of the camp will be shared in due course.
The Lions have been drawn into Group F for the third and final round of Asian Cup qualifying, and will take on hosts Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan and Myanmar between 8 to 14 June. The six group winners and five best second-placed teams will advance to the China 2023™ Finals.
