Pierluigi Collina Addresses FAS’ Referees
SINGAPORE, 4 April 2014: He is widely considered to be the best referee of his generation. On Friday afternoon, the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) was pleased to invite seven-time Italian Serie A’s Referee Of The Year, Pierluigi Collina to address FAS referees and officials in an exclusive session.
Pierluigi shared his experiences and thoughts on how to be a successful referee in a light-hearted and insightful session after which he took time to answer questions from the participants. He was later presented with a Singapore National Team jersey by Mr Ridzal Saat, Deputy Director for Planning and Development, FAS
Mr Lim Tong Hai, Chairman of FAS Referees’ Committee, enthused: “It is indeed a great honour and pleasure to have Pierluigi Collina, a former world-class international referee with extensive top level experience, address us this afternoon. Our referees were all looking forward to meeting and learning from him. Judging by the response from them today, it is clear they had so much to take away from Pierluigi and I am sure they will be putting everything they have learned today into good use. “
