Police SA clinch Singapore Football League 2 title
Police SA players celebrate winning the SFL 2 title yesterday at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
SINGAPORE, 11 SEPTEMBER 2023 – Police SA have secured the Singapore Football League (SFL) 2 title for the first time, having completed the 2023 season with 43 points. With this triumph, Police SA becomes the 15th winner of the competition.
With just two points separating Police SA and closest rivals South Avenue SC going into the final matchday, Police SA were only confirmed as champions in the final round of the season. Police SA’s victory over Bishan Barx FC ultimately rendered South Avenue’s result against Admiralty CSN inconsequential.
The prize ceremony was held at the Jalan Besar Stadium after the match between Police SA and Bishan Barx FC, with Police SA receiving S$7,500 along with the coveted trophy from Football Association of Singapore Deputy General Secretary, Gerard Christopher.
FAS Deputy General Secretary Gerard Christopher handed over the SFL 2 trophy and prize money to the Police SA team manager and players at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
Sharul Shah from Kaki Bukit SC claimed the SFL 2 Top Scorer award for the second successive season with 18 goals, 4 more goals than his closest competitor.
