Promising Coaches To Guide Beginners In Premier Skills Community Coaching Course
SINGAPORE, 3 FEBRUARY 2017: The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) today announced that registration for the Premier Skills Community Coaching Course, which will be held from 23-26 February 2017 at Jalan Besar Stadium, is now open. Targeted at those who have little or no experience in coaching but would like to get involved in football and coaching, it will be conducted from 8.45am to 5.00pm daily.
In line with FAS’ goal to make coaching accessible to a wider base of participants, registration will be complimentary for participants of this course, with 36 slots open to beginners on a first-come-first-served basis.
The course will be run by selected coaches from the FAS Cubs grassroots programme, Sport Singapore and the British Council who attended the first phase of the Premier Skills Community Coaching and Refereeing courses in July 2015, including Tampines Rovers FC Head of Youth Development and S.League Assistant Coach Herman Zailani.
On the last day of the course, participants will get to put what they have learnt into practice by planning and conducting a Community Festival for children between 8 and 14.
“This course will be a good opportunity for beginners to get a taste of what coaching is like through both practical and workshop sessions. The topics covered will range from planning a coaching session to focusing on various topics such as attacking and defending, and passing and dribbling, so the participants can be assured that this four-day coaching course will be a good introduction to coaching for them,” said Ms Julie Teo, General Manager, Grassroots and Women’s Football.
