[CLOSED] Registration for the 2024 Basic Sports Trainer Course now open

SINGAPORE, 29 JANUARY 2024 – Interested participants can now register for the 2024 Basic Sports Trainer Course, which will be conducted from 14 to 16 February 2024. The course is held in collaboration with Changi General Hospital (CGH).

 

What is the Basic Sports Trainer Course about?

The course is to educate participants on the role of a sports trainer. The sports trainer plays a crucial role by ensuring players are well taken care of before, during, and after football training and games. They also need to be equipped to manage acute injuries to players during training or games.

 

What will be covered in the Basic Sports Trainer Course?

  • The Role of a Sports Trainer in Injury Prevention
  • The Role of a Sports Trainer in Management of an Injured Athlete
  • Introduction to Basic Anatomy
  • Introduction to Basic Sports Massage
  • Basic On-Field Management

 

The course is targeted at Singapore Premier League, Singapore Football League, Women’s Premier League, Women’s National League, Island Wide League, and the newest Singapore Youth League officials.

 

Other interested participants may also enroll for the course to have a better understanding of the role of the sports trainer and gain valuable exposure to the medical aspect of the football scene.

 

Course Details:

Dates: 14 – 16 February 2024 (Full 3 days)

Time: 8.30am to 5.30pm

Course Fee: $ 625.00 (as this is an independent collaboration between FAS and CGH, the course fees are not claimable via SkillsFuture)

Maximum Number of Course Participants: 22

Minimum Entry Requirements: Participants must possess a valid Standard First Aid, CPR and AED.

Recommended for: Participants with sports science or related medical backgrounds.

 

Participants are encouraged to bring writing materials for individual/group discussions, presentations, and assessments. It is advised that participants are dressed comfortably, preferably in sports attire.

 

Interested course participants are to access the Google Form link here [CLOSED] to indicate their interest and provide us with their details. The closing date for the application is on 05 February 2024.

 

22 shortlisted course participants will be notified of their successful application by 07 February 2024.
