SXHFC got off to a dream start when Navin Mohan scored in the sixth minute. Latching on to a through ball, the forward deftly rounded the onrushing keeper to open the scoring for his side. His teammate Wan Hazmi doubled the lead in the 29th minute and SXHFC controlled the rest of the match until the final whistle.
The prize ceremony was held at JBS after the match, with the SXHFC players receiving the coveted trophy from Football Association of Singapore (FAS) Acting President, Mr Bernard Lim.
Meanwhile, GDT Circuit forward Zuhaili Suib is the league’s Top Scorer having finished the season with seven goals.
As the top two teams in the league, both SXHFC and KBSC will be promoted to the FAS Singapore Football League (SFL) 2 next season. KBSC will be making a swift return to the league having suffered relegation in the previous edition, while SXHFC will be competing in SFL 2 for the first time.
Balestier United RC will be the only team relegated to IWL next season after Commonwealth Cosmos FC’s withdrawal from SFL 2.
