Talent-scout courses in October and November open for registration
SINGAPORE, 17 OCTOBER 2023 – Due to overwhelming responses, the Talent Identification department have added more slots for the Talent Identification (Level 1) course. This course is aimed at scouts, future scouts, coaches, and talent developers working to evaluate players, primarily in youth football. It applies to both the evaluation of the club’s own players and scouting of external players with a view to potential recruitment. Please see the table below for more details on the dates, timing and venues.

This Level 1 course, priced at the introductory price of SGD299, consists of a total of 12 teaching hours, with each evening lasting 4 hours. Participants are required to come prepared, as FAS will provide materials for pre-course reading. The teaching method involves a mix of instructor-led presentations, group discussions, plenary debates, and live or video scouting.
The course content are as follows:
- What is a talent?
- Performance and potential
- Live scouting and/or video scouting
- A model for reporting on individual players
- Introduction to common football and scouting language
- Safeguarding, FAS guidelines, and rules for scouting and recruitment
Admission to the Talent Identification (Level 1) course does not require any coaching license, but participants should be curious and passionate about talent identification and spotting talents.

The next “Open” Talent Identification (Level 1) course is scheduled for January 2024.
