SINGAPORE, 20 OCTOBER 2019 – Tiong Bahru FC won the 2019 Football Association of Singapore (FAS) FA Cup after defeating Yishun Sentek Mariners FC on Sunday night.

The National Football League (NFL) Division 1 champions exacted revenge for last year’s 3-1 final loss to the same opponents as they completed a domestic double at Jalan Besar Stadium.
Nurhilmi Jasni broke the deadlock in superb fashion by lofting the ball over goalkeeper Fawwaz Anuar from 35 yards on 39 minutes, before Syukri Noorhaizam doubled the lead six minutes later with a low angled drive.
Farouq Farkhan halved the deficit with a powerful header on 66 minutes but the Mariners could not find a second goal, as wild cheers erupted from the Tiong Bahru bench at full time.
FAS President, Mr Lim Kia Tong, presented the prizes to the champions, while FAS Council members Mr Rizal Rasudin and Mr Yakob Hashim did likewise for the runners-up and match officials respectively.
In the third/fourth-placing match played before the final, NFL Division 2 champions Project Vaults Oxley SC edged Singapore Armed Forces SA (SAFSA) 2-1. Jonathan Xu broke the deadlock on 80 minutes with a header, only for Idraki Adnan to hit back just two minutes later by sweeping in a low cross. However, substitute Fareez Rahman smashed in a powerful effort on 84 minutes to seal victory for Project Vaults.
Both teams received their prizes from FAS President Mr Lim. There were also prize presentation ceremonies for the first and second runners-up of both the NFL Division 1 and Division 2, namely GFA Sporting Westlake and SAFSA (Div 1) and Siglap FC and Jungfrau Punggol FC (Div 2).

Congratulations to the champions and well done to all participating teams!
