Two Friendlies Against India Under-23 National Team Lined Up
SINGAPORE, 4 JULY 2017: The Singapore Under-23 National Team will be playing two friendly matches against the India Under-23 National Team on Sunday 9 July and Wednesday 12 July 2017 at Choa Chu Kang Stadium in preparation for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-23 Championship 2018 qualifiers later this month. Ticket sales will begin at noon on Wednesday 5 July.
Singapore has been drawn in Group F for the AFC Under-23 Championship 2018 qualifiers, alongside Australia, Myanmar and Brunei. The qualifiers will be held in Yangon, Myanmar from 19-23 July 2017.
Head Coach, National Youth Teams Richard Tardy said: “We have been consistently playing strong teams in our preparations for the AFC U23 Championship qualifiers and Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. I believe the India Under-23 National Team has similarly been training hard, under the guidance of their coach Stephen Constantine, for their AFC U23 qualifying matches. The friendlies will be the final phase of our preparations for the qualifiers next week, and a good opportunity for us to refine our tactics. I thank the Football Association of Singapore for arranging the friendlies and the All India Football Federation for agreeing to the matches.”
