Under-22s Report for Training in Japan

GOTEMBA, 10 MARCH 2019 – The Singapore Under-22 National Team arrived in Gotemba, Japan on Thursday evening for a training camp to prepare for the AFC Under-23 Championship qualifiers held in Mongolia from 22 to 26 March. The team, consisting of 24 players and 12 backroom staff, is led by Head Coach Fandi Ahmad.

Assistant coach S. Subramani and three players – Amiruldin Asraf, Arshad Shamim and Amirul Haikal also joined in training today after touching down in Japan yesterday.

The players have been training in low temperatures and strong winds in order to acclimatise to cold weather conditions, which they will face in Mongolia. They will continue to train daily up until they depart for Mongolia on Monday, 18 March.
They will face Hong Kong in the opening match of the qualifiers on 22 March, before taking on DPR Korea two days later and rounding off the campaign against hosts Mongolia on 26 March.
