VINCENT SUBRAMANIAM TAKES UP ROLE AS FAS COACHING INSTRUCTOR

SINGAPORE, 12 FEBRUARY 2018: The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) announced that Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Elite coaching instructor and former National Team coach Vincent Subramaniam has been appointed as FAS Coaching Instructor, effective today.

 

His responsibilities will include monitoring the National Youth coaches, managing the coaches from clubs’ Centre of Excellence, School Football Academy and Development Centres, and supporting club coaches. He will also be involved in FAS’ coach education in his capacity as an instructor.

 

Coach Vincent said: “My experience as the Young Lions coach during the latter half of the 2017 season was positive and I was heartened by what I saw at the FAS. I believe that the FAS is moving in the right direction and putting in place foundations that will bear fruit in future. Coach Development is an area that the FAS has placed emphasis on and I am looking forward to being part of the team to achieve our desired vision for Singapore football.”

 

He will be working closely with Technical Director Michel Sablon to realise the FAS vision and ensure that the coaches are aligned with FAS’ youth training philosophy.

 

Technical Director Michel Sablon said: “Having worked with Vincent before, we are pleased to welcome him officially to the FAS. With the respect that he commands given his vast experience both locally and internationally, we believe that he would be able to guide the coaches with a firm hand and assist in building the future of Singapore football.”

 

The former Singapore National Coach won consecutive S.League titles in 1997 and 1998 with SAFFC (now known as Warriors FC).
