SINGAPORE, 18 NOVEMBER 2018 – Yishun Sentek Mariners FC beat Tiong Bahru FC 3-1 in the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) FA Cup tonight, clinching the title in the process.

2018 National Football League (NFL) Division One top goal scorer Zulkiffli Hassim added to his tally in the FA Cup – securing the win for his club and the distinction of being the joint-top scorer for the 2018 FA Cup, alongside Police SA’s Hakim Abdullah. Yishun Sentek Mariners FC narrowly lost to Warriors FC’s Prime League team last year, and overcame the odds this year to dominate proceedings, despite being one man down 33 minutes into the game.

Earlier in the day, SAFSA ran out 5-0 winners over Admiralty CSC in the Third Place Play-off played in the Jalan Besar Stadium as well. SAFSA captain Aloysius Yap scored a hat trick, with his teammates S Gautam and Niels Alistair sealing the win.

FAS Council member Lim Tong Hai presented the trophy and prizes to the top four teams, as well as the prizes for the first runners-up in both divisions of the NFL. The NFL Division One Fair Play and Top Goal scorer awards were also presented to Police SA and Zulkiffli Hassim respectively.
