Share

Young Women clinched the Women’s Premier League 2008 title by three points as they overcame both Arion Women’s FC and Police FC who pushed them all the way to wire.

Arion Women’s and Police FC both finished with 20 points after they played out to a 1-1 draw in their final league game.

Jennifer Allen opened the scoring for Arion Women’s but were denied victory when Darvina Halini scored with a minute left to share the spoils.

Young Women were fortunate to grab a point as Noor Azean scored deep into injury time to confirm themselves as champions.

In a season where hardly anything separated the top four teams, Young Women managed to pull away from the rest as the season neared its end.

Huraizah Bte Ismail of Ang Mo Kio United FC won the golden boot with 18 goals in 12 games as her teams mates Ovah Marie and Doceline Theolore Ndjouanang bagged 15 and 12 goals respectively in the league.
